Netmarble's upcoming mobile RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, has unveiled a new gameplay trailer and details about its closed beta test. The action-adventure game, set during the show's fourth season, promises engaging combat and a rich narrative experience.
This class-based RPG, featuring iconic characters like Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, and Drogon, offers a fresh storyline centered around a new House Tyre heir. The trailer highlights "fully manual" controls, allowing players to directly control their knight or assassin character. While not a triple-A title, the game aims to deliver high-quality graphics and compelling combat within the mobile gaming space.
Initially announced in November 2024 and further showcased at The Game Awards, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad leverages the established lore and characters from George R.R. Martin's universe and the HBO series. Netmarble, known for titles like Marvel Future Fight and Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, describes the combat as "raw, aggressive, and destructive."
Closed Beta Test: January 16-22, 2025
The closed beta test will run from January 16th to 22nd, 2025, in the United States, Canada, and select European regions. Players can register via the game's official website. A full launch is expected later in 2025. The beta offers fans an early look at the game's unique blend of familiar characters and an original story inspired by Wildlings, Dothraki, and the Faceless Men.
