Final Fantasy XVI director, Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P), has politely requested fans avoid creating or installing "offensive or inappropriate" mods for the PC release.
Final Fantasy XVI PC Launch: September 17th
Yoshi-P's Plea for Respectful Modding
In a recent PC Gamer interview, Yoshi-P addressed the modding community, urging them to maintain respectful content. While open to creative modifications, he specifically cautioned against the creation or use of offensive or inappropriate mods. He cleverly sidestepped suggesting specific ideas to avoid inadvertently encouraging undesirable content.
"We don't want to see anything offensive or inappropriate," Yoshida stated, emphasizing the importance of keeping the modding community respectful.
Yoshi-P's experience with previous Final Fantasy titles likely exposed him to a range of mods, some falling into the "inappropriate" or "offensive" categories. Online modding platforms frequently feature diverse content, including graphical enhancements and cosmetic changes, but also NSFW material. While Yoshi-P didn't specify the types of mods he's concerned about, examples like explicit character model replacements clearly fall under his stated concerns.
Final Fantasy XVI's PC release boasts enhanced features, including a 240fps frame rate cap and various upscaling technologies. Yoshi-P's request simply aims to ensure a positive and respectful experience for all players.
