Neowiz and Gamfs N have released the first major content update for BrownDust2 following its 1.5-year anniversary celebrations in December. Dubbed Onsen Training, this new update introduces a wealth of exciting features and fiery challenges to the game.
Onsen Training transports players to a traditional Japanese winter hot spring, complete with intense sword-fighting battles and the signature strategic challenges of BrownDust2. The experience even includes some mischievous monkey antics—expect plenty of humor and wild moments.
BrownDust2 Welcomes the Onsen Training Update
This update introduces three new characters. Ventana takes center stage as the story's protagonist, and both she and Liberta are now available as playable characters through the pickup draw. Blade, however, remains a narrative-exclusive character.
The Onsen Training event narrative shares the same world as Character Pack 1: Jayden’s Gate in BrownDust2. It comprises 30 total battles, evenly split between 15 normal stages and 15 challenge stages.
The story begins with Ventana, captain of the Kendo Club, who has recently suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of a new student named Justia.
Driven to restore her reputation, Ventana travels to a secluded mountain hot spring said to boost physical prowess. Her training regimen is quickly disrupted, however, by the arrival of troublesome Snowy Mountain Monkeys.
She is eventually rescued by Blade, a legendary Kendo Club alumnus, who refuses her request for swordsmanship instruction. Enter Liberta, the hot spring’s manager, who offers to help Ventana earn Blade’s mentorship.
Introducing a New Mini-Game
Named Onsen Tile Tactics, this mini-game challenges players to clear matching tiles within a time limit. The event story unfolds in weekly phases, starting with Legendary Graduate in the first week and wrapping up with Beyond Legend in the third week.
Players will also encounter both returning and brand-new boss enemies. Giant Rou, the Fiend Hunter, makes a reappearance during the first week. In week three, you’ll face the formidable Snowy Mountain Tyrant—a giant, fiery monkey that grows stronger when attacking enemies affected by damage-over-time effects.
Additionally, the Guild Raid boss Rucersingha, Ruler of the Void, makes its debut. Lacking any elemental attributes, Rucersingha unleashes devastating attacks and requires significant chain stacking to defeat.
New equipment and costumes are also available. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume can be obtained until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, which will be available until February 13th.
Download BrownDust2 now from the Google Play Store and join Ventana on her Onsen Training journey.
