Description

Thai Chess, also known as Makruk, is a fascinating board game that shares the same 8x8 square dimensions as classical chess. While the initial arrangement largely mirrors that of traditional chess, there are two notable differences: the white queen starts on the e1 square, and the white king begins on the d1 square, positioning each king to the left of his queen from the player's perspective. Additionally, pawns are placed on the third rank for white and the sixth rank for black.

The movement of the king, rook, and pawn in Thai Chess is identical to that in classical chess: the king can move one square in any direction (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally), the rook can move any number of free squares vertically or horizontally, and the pawn moves one square forward and captures one square diagonally forward. Thai Chess can be enjoyed in various modes, including against artificial intelligence, with another person on the same device, or against an online opponent in multiplayer mode.

Piece Moves:

- King: Moves as in European chess. There is no possibility of castling (moving the king towards the rook).

- Queen: Can only move one point diagonally.

- Rook: Can move any number of squares horizontally or vertically, provided there are no pieces in its path.

- Bishop: Moves one square diagonally in any direction or one square forward vertically.

- Horse: Moves two cells vertically and then one cell horizontally, or vice versa, two cells horizontally and one cell vertically, the same as in the European analogue.

- Pawn: Moves one step forward vertically and cuts one step forward diagonally, as in European chess. A pawn can only transform into an analogue of a queen upon reaching the sixth rank.

Victory Conditions:

As in classical chess, the goal of Thai Chess is to checkmate the opponent's king. A stalemate results in a draw.
