A standard domino set typically contains 28 tiles, but extended sets (double 9 and double 12) are used for games like Mexican Train and Chicken Foot. Different regions have their own favorite domino games: England (Muggins), Scandinavia (Bergen), Mexico (Mexican Train), and Spain (Matador).
Dominoes originated in Song Dynasty China, later appearing in Italy during the 18th century.
Gameplay Overview:
Blocking Games: These games, often played with a double-six set, involve players taking turns placing tiles to extend a line. The game ends when a player uses all their tiles or the game is blocked. Starting tiles vary by game (e.g., highest double in Muggins, 0-0 in Bergen).
Scoring Games: Points are awarded for various actions, often incorporating elements of the draw game. In Muggins, players aim for open ends totaling multiples of five. In Bergen, points are scored when open ends match. A "domino" call is crucial in some variations. In Mexican Train, the double-zero tile is worth 50 points.
Draw Games: Players can draw tiles from the stock before placing a tile. The score is calculated based on remaining tiles and the stock.
Mexican Train is now available! Enjoy various domino game modes, including free online play (draw, block, and Muggins)!
