Zenless Zone Zero's Extended Patch Cycle: A Leak Reveals Future Updates
Recent leaks suggest that Zenless Zone Zero's current patch cycle will extend beyond initial expectations, potentially concluding with Version 1.7 before transitioning to Version 2.0. This revelation comes less than a year after the RPG's successful launch, a period marked by consistent content additions and rising popularity.
The game's impressive first year included a nomination for Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards and a successful collaboration with McDonald's. Following the recent 1.4 update (which, despite introducing a powerful new unit, Hoshimi Miyabi, faced minor controversy regarding censorship quickly resolved by the developers), anticipation is high for the upcoming 1.5 update. This update promises to deliver two highly anticipated S-Rank units, Astra Yao and Evelyn, along with a new area and a potential skin for Nicole Demara. Astra Yao's materials have already been teased in previous leaks, prompting players to begin farming in advance.
According to reliable leaker Flying Flame, the projected patch cycle is as follows:
- Version 1.7, followed by Version 2.0
- Version 2.8, followed by Version 3.0
This extended cycle, if accurate, would differentiate Zenless Zone Zero from similar titles like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, which concluded their first cycles with Version 1.6. Furthermore, a separate leak from the same source indicates that 31 additional characters are planned for future releases. With the current roster standing at 26 playable characters, this suggests a significant expansion of the game's cast.
While Version 1.7 remains months away, the imminent 1.5 update offers players much to look forward to, including a new main story chapter, events, and the highly anticipated addition of Astra Yao and Evelyn. Version 1.4 is expected to conclude in late January.
