Take-Two has revealed the sales of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2

Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) continues to defy expectations, selling an impressive 5 million copies in the last three months alone, a testament to its enduring popularity despite its 2013 release. Its place as one of history's best-selling games remains firmly secured.

Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2), released in 2018, also saw a sales surge, adding 3 million copies to its already substantial 70 million total in the recent quarter.

The ongoing success of GTA Online, GTA V's multiplayer component, is a key factor. Take-Two Interactive's commitment to regular updates, such as the December 2024 Agents of Sabotage, actively maintains player engagement.

Looking ahead, Take-Two has confirmed a fall 2025 release for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI. Further bolstering their upcoming releases, Mafia: The Old Country is slated for a summer launch, and Borderlands 4 is expected later in the year.

While concerns about potential delays for Grand Theft Auto VI are understandable, Take-Two's recent financial report reaffirmed its autumn release window. Similarly, Borderlands 4's release in 2025 has been confirmed, although specific dates remain unannounced.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged Rockstar's meticulous development approach, suggesting potential for extended timelines, mirroring the development cycles of previous titles like GTA V and RDR2. Despite this, the fall release window for GTA VI remains the official target.
