S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Completing the "Just Like the Good Old Days" Mission
Navigating the choices in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl significantly impacts your gameplay. The mission "Just Like the Good Old Days" follows either "To the Last Drop of Blood" or "Law and Order," culminating in an escape from the SIRCAA.
Locating Professor Lodochka on Wild Island
Your first task is to reach the mission marker on Wild Island and find Professor Lodochka at Quite's Camp. Be prepared for a priority objective: eliminating mercenaries in the area. These enemies will be clearly marked on your map, simplifying the encounter. Strong equipment is recommended, as this is not the only combat you'll face. After clearing the mercenaries, a path to Lodochka will be revealed. An optional objective, activating the ventilation system, will also become available.
Activating the Ventilation System (Optional)
This optional objective streamlines later stages of the mission. Consult your map to locate a fuse. Once obtained, a new marker will appear, guiding you to the engineering rooms. Beware of an invisible enemy within!
Proceed to the shelter, navigate the passageways to the engine room, and use the fuse to restore power to the ventilation system.
Finding the Signal Source
Before proceeding, consider upgrading your weaponry; the next phase presents significant challenges. Follow the mission marker to a cave entrance near the water. Navigate the caverns heading west, descending and overcoming various obstacles. Utilize a broken pipe to reach higher cave levels.
Locate the large cone-shaped spire and the emitter at the marked point beside it. Another invisible enemy awaits on your return journey. Finally, report back to Professor Lodochka to complete the mission and unlock "Hornet's Nest."
