A Potential Connection to the Upcoming "Super Game"?

Many believe this launch is linked to Sega's ambitious "Super Game" project, announced in a 2022 report. Sega CEO Haruki Satomi stated, "One strategy for generating such hit titles is the creation of a 'Super Game' - a large-scale global title. We're currently developing such a game, targeting release by the fiscal year ending March 2026."

While details remain scarce two years later, Sega and its subsidiaries are actively developing numerous titles, from classics like Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, and Golden Axe, to new projects such as the intriguing Yakuza-like Project Century. The Sega Account platform may signal a new era for Sega, but the full impact of these plans remains to be seen.
