Scammers are distributing fake invitations to test Elden Ring Nightreign

by Jason Mar 05,2025

Bandai Namco is sending out emails inviting players to participate in the closed beta test of Elden Ring: Nightreign, scheduled for February 14-17, 2025. The test will focus on the game's three-person cooperative mode.

However, beware of scams! Due to the game's popularity, fraudulent invitations are circulating. These fake emails, designed to mimic official Bandai Namco communications, often contain links to websites that resemble Steam, aiming to steal player accounts. Some players have even received these fraudulent messages from compromised friends' accounts. While some victims have recovered their accounts through Steam support, caution is paramount.

Always verify the authenticity of any email or link before clicking. If you're unsure, consult official Bandai Namco channels.

A noteworthy change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game messaging system. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute session length doesn't allow sufficient time for players to send or read messages effectively. Therefore, the feature has been temporarily disabled for the beta.
