The Pokémon GO Tour: Unova event brings Black and White Kyurem and Shiny Meloetta to Pokémon GO!
Black and White Kyurem Debut
Following the December 2024 announcement, Niantic revealed the arrival of Black Kyurem, White Kyurem, and Shiny Meloetta. From February 21st to 23rd, 2025, in-person event attendees in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Los Angeles, USA, can capture and fuse Kyurem. Base Kyurem is obtained by defeating Black or White Kyurem in five-star raids.
Fusion requires:
- Black Kyurem: 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Zekrom Candy.
- White Kyurem: 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Reshiram Candy.
Fusion Energy is earned by raiding Black or White Kyurem. Reverting Kyurem to its base form is free. Shiny Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom have increased encounter rates during the event.
A global event, Pokémon GO Tour: Unova - Global, runs March 1st-2nd, 2025, offering free access to these Pokémon.
Shiny Meloetta Arrives!
Shiny Meloetta makes its Pokémon GO debut! In-person event ticket holders can complete a Masterwork Research to encounter it. This research doesn't expire, allowing flexible completion.
Unova Region Legendaries
Kyurem, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Meloetta originated in Pokémon Black and White (Generation V). Black and White 2 introduced Kyurem's alternate forms, capable of learning Ice Burn and Freeze Shock, mirroring their Pokémon GO counterparts. This event provides a complete Unova experience!
