Where to Find Bagon
Bagon's Location in Pokémon Violet
Several locations in Pokémon Violet yield Bagon encounters:
- East Province (Area Three): This expansive area, rich in explorable caves, offers a high chance of finding Bagon.
- South Province (Area Five): A fixed spawn Bagon resides atop a mountain southwest of the bridge connecting the grassy and rocky regions.
- Dalizapa Passage: Located north of the Great Crater and south of Glaseado Mountain, this area features a deep hole accessible by Koraidon/Miraidon, containing Bagon and other rare Pokémon.
- 3-Star Tera Raids: Once you've earned three Gym Badges, 3-star Tera Raids offer a chance to encounter Bagon (Tera Type may vary). These raids might even yield Bagon with its Hidden Ability.
How to Get Bagon in Pokémon Scarlet
Since Bagon isn't naturally found in Pokémon Scarlet, trading or transferring is necessary:
Trading and Transferring Pokémon

Trading with a Pokémon Violet player via the Union Circle requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Alternatively, Pokémon HOME provides a simpler transfer method:
- Open Pokémon HOME and select the game containing Bagon.
- Move Bagon to the Basic Box. Save and exit.
- Open your Pokémon Scarlet file and transfer Bagon from the Basic Box to a PC Box.
- Save and exit. Bagon should now be in your Scarlet PC Box, and its entry will be registered in your Pokédex.
How to Evolve Bagon into Shelgon and Salamence
Bagon's Evolution Levels

- Bagon to Shelgon: Level 30
- Shelgon to Salamence: Level 50
Leveling can be accelerated through auto-battling (using Chansey for efficient EXP gain) or by using Exp. Candy (L, XL, or M). Shelgon and Salamence can also be obtained from 4-star and 5/6-star Tera Raids, respectively.
