Sony Unveils Sleek Midnight Black PlayStation 5 Accessory Collection

Sony has unveiled its stylish Midnight Black Collection for PlayStation 5, featuring a quartet of premium accessories: the DualSense Edge wireless controller, PlayStation Portal handheld remote player, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds. This dark-themed collection adds a sophisticated touch to the existing PlayStation 5 lineup.

The collection's pricing is as follows:

• DualSense Edge wireless controller (Midnight Black): $199.99
• PlayStation Portal (Midnight Black): $199.99
• Pulse Explore wireless earbuds (Midnight Black): $199.99
• Pulse Elite wireless headset (Midnight Black): $149.99

Note that the Pulse Elite headset's price is notably higher than its predecessor, the Pulse 3D wireless headset. Both the headset and earbuds include a felt gray carrying case.

Pre-orders for the Midnight Black Collection begin January 16th, 2025, at 10 AM ET, exclusively through direct.playstation.com. The full launch is slated for February 20th, 2025.

This announcement follows the excitement surrounding CES 2025 and complements recent rumors of a significant PlayStation VR2 headset upgrade. The Midnight Black collection expands upon Sony's existing range of colored DualSense controllers, which already includes popular themed versions for games like God of War and Marvel's Spider-Man 2. A limited-edition Helldivers 2 DualSense controller is also currently available for pre-order.
