World of Warcraft: Your Guide to Catching the Legendary Riding Turtle

World of Warcraft is a competitive game with dedicated players. Standing out requires dedication and skill, often demonstrated by acquiring rare in-game items. One such coveted item is the Riding Turtle, a unique mount signifying legendary status.

This guide explains how to obtain the Riding Turtle, a process involving rare loot cards and a significant amount of in-game gold.

What is the Riding Turtle?

Recent WoW pre-updates introduced solo-only group opportunities, allowing players to obtain exotic mounts like the Riding Turtle and Sea Turtle. This guide outlines methods for acquiring these collectibles and converting loot into gold. However, these methods might be changed by Blizzard, so act quickly!

The Angler's Approach

A hidden treasure lies within your garrison's waters. Alliance players seek Lunarfall Carp, while Horde players fish for Frostdeep Minnow at their fishing shacks. Returning these fish to the lake summons Lunarfall Cavedweller or Frostdeep Cavedweller, respectively, which can drop the Riding Turtle and Sea Turtle mounts.

This requires the Draenor Angler achievement (catching 100 of each Enormous Fish species in Warlords of Draenor), unlocking a level 3 garrison fishing shack. Even with the shack, the fish have a 3% drop rate, potentially improved with better gear and boosts.

Why Now's the Time to Act

Previously, only the player who tagged the Cave Dweller received rewards. The latest patch allows raid groups (up to 40 players) to share loot, making fishing more communal and lucrative. The odds of obtaining rare mounts have significantly increased.

The combined drop rate was previously 3% (fishing) x 0.5% (Cave Dweller), now significantly improved with multiple players. While you don't need the Draenor Angler achievement to join a raid, demonstrating fishing ability is beneficial to avoid being seen as a "leecher." Find a welcoming group or create your own to maximize your chances.
