Oscar Nominations 2025 Announced: Emilia Pérez, Wicked, and The Brutalist Among Top Nominees

The 97th Academy Awards nominations are in, and Emilia Pérez is the frontrunner, receiving a record-breaking 13 nominations – the most ever for a non-English language film. Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang announced the nominees on January 23rd during a live stream on the Oscars YouTube channel. Jacques Audiard's Spanish crime thriller, Emilia Pérez, is a major contender, competing for Best Picture, Best Director (Audiard himself), and Best Lead Actress (Karla Sofía Gascón).

Wicked and The Brutalist closely trail with 10 nominations each, while Conclave and A Complete Unknown garnered eight nominations apiece.

The 97th Academy Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 2nd, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
