Enhanced Xbox Game Pass Rewards Program Coming January 7th
Starting January 7th, Xbox Game Pass is significantly upgrading its rewards program, introducing Quests to PC users and enhancing the overall experience. However, a key change is the age restriction: these new features are exclusively for players aged 18 and older.
This update brings several exciting additions:
-
Quests Expand to PC Game Pass: PC Game Pass subscribers (18+) will now have access to the same Quests and Rewards previously limited to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
-
New Quest Types: Players can earn points through daily, weekly, and monthly challenges. These include:
- Daily Play: Earn 10 points daily by playing any Game Pass title for at least 15 minutes.
- Weekly Streaks: Play for at least five days a week to earn points, with multipliers increasing for consecutive weeks (2x for two weeks, 3x for three, and 4x for four or more).
- Monthly Packs: Explore the Game Pass catalog by playing four (Monthly 4-Pack) or eight (Monthly 8-Pack) different games (15 minutes each). The 4-Pack games count towards the 8-Pack.
- PC Weekly Bonus: Earn 150 points for playing at least 15 minutes on five or more days of the week.
-
Age Restriction: The Rewards Hub, used to track and redeem points, will no longer be accessible to users under 18. Microsoft cites a commitment to age-appropriate gaming experiences. Younger players can still earn rewards through parental purchases of eligible items on the Microsoft Store.
The revamped system simplifies earning rewards with consistent daily, weekly, and monthly opportunities. The return of weekly streaks and the introduction of point multipliers incentivize regular gameplay. The expansion to PC Game Pass provides more players with access to these benefits, while the age restriction reflects Microsoft's focus on responsible gaming practices.
