Insomniac Games Remains Tight-Lipped on Marvel's Wolverine Release Date
Insomniac Games recently shared its future plans, but notably omitted any updates on the highly anticipated Marvel's Wolverine. While the studio confirmed a busy future with "ambitious projects," Co-Head Chad Dezern remained evasive about Wolverine's release, neither confirming nor denying a 2025 launch in an interview with Variety. The statement emphasized the studio's excitement but stressed the need to maintain secrecy.

Wolverine's Development History:
Initially unveiled during the 2021 PlayStation Showcase with a cinematic trailer, Marvel's Wolverine is slated for PlayStation 5. Further fueling fan speculation, Creative Director Bryan Intihar (Marvel's Spider-Man 2) confirmed in a 2023 interview with Kinda Funny that Wolverine exists within the same universe as Spider-Man ("they're all in 1048"). While fans anticipated crossovers, only a Wolverine-themed suit ("The Best There Is") has appeared in Spider-Man 2 thus far. A significant setback occurred in December 2023 when a ransomware attack briefly exposed Wolverine's development assets.

Other Insomniac Projects and Spider-Man 2 PC Release:
Insomniac confirmed that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will launch on PC on January 30, 2025, as announced at New York Comic-Con 2025. The PC version will include all post-launch updates for the PS5 version. The studio also clarified that no further DLC is planned for Spider-Man 2.
