Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio's latest adventure game, Universe for Sale, is now available. Following the success of titles like The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti, Akupara Games delivers another intriguing experience.
Is the Universe Actually for Sale?
Set on a Jupiter space station, the game unfolds in a bizarre, acid-rain-soaked bazaar. Orangutans with surprising wit work the docks, and cultists trade flesh for enlightenment. The universe itself is for sale, thanks to Lila, a woman with the unusual ability to create universes from her hand.
The game begins with the player controlling the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment, landing in a ramshackle mining colony. Exploring this strange town, filled with quirky shops, leads to Honin's Tea House, Lila's shop, where the mystery begins to unfold. Gameplay switches between Lila's and the Master's perspectives, revealing the narrative gradually.
Playing as Lila involves a mini-game of universe creation, mixing ingredients to produce visually stunning worlds. The Master's journey delves into the philosophies of the Cult of Detachment and encounters with the Church of Many Gods. The story develops through exploration and interaction, with each character – human, skeletal, or robotic – possessing their own unique tale. The world is richly detailed, inviting exploration of every corner.
