Insomniac Games' Ted Price Reveals Unmade Resistance 4 Pitch
Insomniac Games founder and retiring president Ted Price recently revealed in an interview with Kinda Funny Games that a Resistance 4 pitch was developed but ultimately never greenlit. While the concept was lauded internally as "wonderful," Price cited timing and market opportunity as factors preventing its realization.
He expressed the team's strong desire to continue the Resistance storyline, highlighting the series' unique alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera's origins and future conflicts.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, was developed by Insomniac Games for the PlayStation 3. Set in a 1951 alternate reality where aliens invade the UK, the games concluded before Insomniac shifted focus to titles like Marvel's Spider-Man and newer Ratchet & Clank installments.
Price's retirement announcement earlier this year marked the end of his 30-year tenure at Insomniac. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as the studio's new Co-Studio Heads.
Insomniac Games' recent releases include the PC port of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, with Marvel's Wolverine slated as their next project.
