Godzilla's rampage shifts from Tokyo to the United States in IDW Publishing and Toho's new series, Godzilla vs. America. Following the Chicago installment, the series continues with Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, a four-story anthology depicting Godzilla's attack on the City of Angels.
This April release boasts an impressive creative team, including Gabriel Hardman, J. Gonzo, Dave Baker, and Nicole Goux.

Acknowledging the sensitive timing given recent devastating wildfires in the Los Angeles area, IDW has pledged to donate all proceeds from Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1 to the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (Binc), supporting bookstores and comic shops impacted by the fires. The publisher released a statement emphasizing their commitment to community support and clarifying that the comic's themes, while coincidentally mirroring current events, were planned long before the wildfires. The story explores the human condition in the face of unprecedented challenges, using Godzilla as a metaphor for such events.
Associate editor Nicolas Niño shared his excitement about the project, highlighting the collaboration with Los Angeles-based artists and the stories featured in the comic, including Godzilla battling giant lowrider mechs and navigating the city's subway system. He emphasized the unifying theme of Angelenos banding together against an overwhelming force of nature, making the comic a fitting tribute to the city's resilience.
Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1 will be available April 30, 2025, with final orders due March 24. For further updates on upcoming comic releases, explore previews for Marvel and DC comics in 2025.
