Following recent allegations surrounding his 2020 Twitch ban, Turtle Beach has severed its partnership with Dr Disrespect. The gaming accessory manufacturer had a long-standing relationship with the popular streamer, even releasing a co-branded headset.
The allegations, stemming from claims by a former Twitch employee, involve Dr Disrespect's alleged use of Twitch's private messaging system to engage in inappropriate conduct with a minor. These claims, which Dr Disrespect denies, have prompted several partners to re-evaluate their relationships.
Turtle Beach, which had a multi-year sponsorship deal with Dr Disrespect and the ROCCAT brand, has confirmed the termination of its partnership. The streamer's merchandise page on the company's website has also been removed.
This isn't Dr Disrespect's only recent setback. Midnight Society, a game studio he co-founded, has also ended its association with him. While initially assuming his innocence, the studio ultimately decided to sever ties following the emergence of these allegations.
Dr Disrespect vehemently denies the accusations, asserting that no wrongdoing was involved in his Twitch ban and that the matter was resolved with Twitch in 2020. He has also announced a temporary break from streaming, citing the need for a vacation, likely extended due to the current controversy. His future plans remain unclear.
