Medabot Survivors: Bullet-Hell Action for Medabots Fans, But Only in Japan (For Now)
Medabot Survivors, a new bullet-hell action game based on the popular Japanese robot RPG series, is launching in Japan on February 10th for iOS and Android. For those unfamiliar, Medabots enjoyed a surge in popularity following Pokémon's Western success, though it never achieved the same global recognition as its counterpart (or Digimon, for that matter).
However, Medabots maintains a strong following in Japan, making this Survivors-style mobile game a natural progression for the franchise. While the "Survivors" genre has roots extending beyond Vampire Survivors, Medabot Survivors' arrival highlights the genre's global expansion.
A Survivor's Tale (and a Western Release Hope)
Unfortunately, the game's initial release is exclusive to Japan. This isn't uncommon; many successful Japanese games never see a Western release. However, the game's potential popularity could lead to a future global launch. For now, Western fans will have to wait and see.
