Jurassic World Dominion incorporates a scene from Michael Crichton's original Jurassic Park novel, previously omitted from Steven Spielberg's 1993 film adaptation, screenwriter David Koepp has confirmed.
In an interview with Variety, Koepp, who penned the screenplay for the original Jurassic Park and returned to write Dominion, explained his rereading of Crichton's novel to refresh his understanding of the franchise's source material, given the absence of a novel for this latest installment. This rereading inspired the inclusion of a previously unused sequence.
Koepp stated, "There was a sequence from the first novel that we'd always wanted in the original movie, but didn't have room for. We were like, 'Hey, we get to use that now.'"
While Koepp remains tight-lipped about the specific scene, fan speculation is rife. Several scenes from the novel are considered strong contenders.
