Atelier Resleriana: Global EOS Announcement for Forgotten Alchemy and Polar Night Liberator

Another mobile game has met its end, and this time it's Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator that has announced its End of Service (EOS). Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games recently shared the news that their RPG will soon be shutting down, but this closure only affects the global version. Launched globally in January 2024, the game's performance evidently fell short of expectations, leading to this decision. We will delve deeper into the reasons behind the EOS later on.

Interestingly, the Japanese version of the game continues to thrive with no plans for shutdown in the near future. It debuted in September 2023 and is set to celebrate its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025, highlighting a stark contrast with the global version's fate.

When Is the Atelier Resleriana EOS?

In a twist of irony, the global version's EOS is scheduled for the same month the Japanese version celebrates its 1.5th anniversary. The exact date is March 28th, 2025. While Japanese players will be enjoying Chapter 22 (Part 2), global players will be concluding their journey with Chapter 21 (Part 1).

The in-game purchase system has already been disabled, but players can still use their Lodestar Gems until the end. Koei Tecmo has committed to providing new content and events leading up to the shutdown.

Adding to the irony, the global version just celebrated its first anniversary on January 25th. A bittersweet milestone, indeed.

Why Is It Shutting Down?

The developers have released a statement indicating that after careful assessment, they found themselves unable to maintain the game at a satisfactory standard for players, leading to the decision to shut down the global version. The game struggled to leave a lasting impression on its audience.

Just a couple of months after its launch, player feedback highlighted issues with the gacha system. While the main characters were well-received, the gameplay and monetization strategies, along with severe power creep, failed to retain players. These factors ultimately contributed to the announcement of the EOS for Atelier Resleriana's global version.

If you wish to bid farewell to the game, you can find it on the Google Play Store. Alternatively, you might enjoy checking out the current event in Sky: Children of the Light, which is celebrating the Lunar New Year 2025 with Days of Fortune.
