Big news for fans of the Now You See Me series: the eagerly awaited third installment has been officially titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, and a fourth film is already in development. This exciting announcement was made by Adam Fogelson, chair of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, during a high-energy presentation at CinemaCon. He also confirmed that the release date for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t remains set for November 14, 2025.
Ruben Fleischer, who directed Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, has signed on to develop and direct the fourth film in this thrilling action-heist franchise, which has already amassed $700 million at the global box office. Fleischer, known for his work on Zombieland, Uncharted, and Venom, is reuniting with stars Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson from his debut film, promising a seamless continuation of the series' magic and mystery.
The original cast, including Eisenberg, Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman, will be joined by a new generation of illusionists portrayed by Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt, with Rosamund Pike also starring in the third installment.
Bobby Cohen, the mastermind behind the series' development and production, will once again produce alongside Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout. Meredith Wieck will oversee the project for Lionsgate, ensuring the franchise continues to dazzle audiences worldwide.
Fogelson expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way. We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and are thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us."
Fleischer shared his excitement, saying, "Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was as much fun as making any movie in my career. It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course, I want to keep it going."
Despite the anticipation, previous films in the series received mixed reviews from IGN. The first Now You See Me scored a 6.3/10, with the review noting, "Now You See Me seemed so promising, but it squanders its cool cast and nifty premise on smarmy, shallow characters and a flimsy, nonsensical plot." The sequel, Now You See Me 2, fared similarly with a 6.2, described as, "Now You See Me 2 isn't the worst magic act in town, but it's all flash and no substance."
With a blend of returning favorites and fresh faces, along with the creative vision of Ruben Fleischer, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t and its upcoming sequel promise to keep fans enthralled with more thrilling heists and mesmerizing magic.
